Join us on our next mission and help us to bring joy and happiness to children in the rural area of Okhaldhungha, Nepal!

Nepal is one of the countries where children suffer the worst from poor conditions. That’s why we decided already in 2018 to become active there. Since then we have been able to provide hundreds of children with access to education in Okhaldhungha, a very rural area of Nepal. We are very pleased to announce, that we will be traveling to Nepal with a selected group of volunteers again in April 2024. This two weeks volunteer trip  is certain to be putting some of you out of your comfort zone – and that is where once-in-a-lifetime experiences are made! This is what awaits you:

After arrival in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, you will have 1-2 days to  overcome the jet-lag and adapt to the climate and culture of Nepal. You will be staying in our partners headquater and the WeTomorrow team will give you all important instructions and prepare you for the trip to Okhaldhungha, the actual project site.

With the help of our amazing partners, we were able to built two libraries in the Okhaldhungha district which is located just south of Solukhumbu District – the Everest region. To get there we will need to drive around 10 hours in Jeeps.

In Okhaldhungha you will be staying in the volunteer center of our partner Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN)  (volunteersinitiativenepal.org), which we helped building in 2019. The view of Mount Everrest from the top of the building would be worth the trip in itself, we promise! The following 8 days will be dedicated to the children of our two WeTomorrow libraries: Basic English courses, hygiene lessons, lots of games and lots of fun are on the program. You will prepare for this together with the WeTomorrow team in the weeks before the trip. The encounters with the children from Okhaldhungha are always something very special and not only make the children’s eyes shine, but also the hearts of our volunteers.

After 8 days in Okhaldhungha we return to the capital city and will visit some important cultural highlights of Nepal, such as the Hindu temple Pashupatinath or one of the most important Buddhist temples in the world, the Buddha Stupa. We believe, that it is essential to experience a countries culture to form a better understanding for eachother.

This is the fourth trip of this kind that we will be hosting and organising. If you want to get a good impression about the environment and conditions of Okhaldhungha and the work that has already been done, watch our documentary about our volunteers trip in 2019 on YouTube: Nepal | December 2019 – YouTube
