We are proud to announce that Mahrberg Foundation has successfully launched its 6th Mahrberg Library Project in a community learning center in rural Nepal – a project which couldn’t have happened without the love and support from our donors, volunteers and partners.
At the end of November, a group of 15 volunteers traveled from Europe to Kathmandu, Nepal, but this was far from the final destination. A 10-hour jeep ride – along winding and narrow roads at the foothills of the Himalaya – awaited the group before reaching the village Nishankhe in the Okhaldhunga District.
During the 8 days, the local and international volunteers worked tirelessly to decorate the children’s center, install the book shelves and organize the books in the library, set up the computers in the computer lab as well as doing library promotions, art lessons, English classes and fun sports activities.
We can confidently say that that the volunteers had life-changing experiences. Our journey never stops. Mahrberg Foundation will continue to expand its work to different parts of the world so that the children we meet can also live a life for the sake of others through the great examples of Mahrberg Library volunteers.
